I live in Louisville, Ky and I have plenty of different style houses in my lifetime. My home is most related to the bungalow style that became a craze in the early part of the 1900’s. My house is a typical “suburb” type house, it has 2 floors, the first floor has 1 bedroom with an open living room that leads to the kitchen/dining-room that then leads to the stairs to the second floor. Very common to the bungalow style yet has a more of a modern feel with the open floor plan on the inside. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a loft. Overall, these are the types of usual houses around me.

What makes the american house form such a salient example of design culture materialized?

The American house form is a perfect example of design culture materialized because it became so popular so quickly, that everyone and their brother wanted a house like each others. I believe this is why suburbs were created, quick, easy houses that looked very similar, and was very popular for both its design and the feeling of comfort within the house.
